This month's masthead photo should offer a clue as to what we have Peter "Mad Pete" Hall working on at present. He's presently well into--and tearing his hair out over--PE sets for the 1/72 scale Victor.
Because of the manner in which this kit has been produced, the sets will perforce be of the tanker version, so he is reluctantly making these sets for the Victor K2 which is what the original kit was fitted as, with the central refuelling hose hose fairing moulded in among the rear of the bomb door panels. While he has the info and diagrams necessary to make a bomb bay set, he reckons modifying the kit to accept it would be a nightmare. So we will be doing the interior and exterior sets for the tanker version for now, and leave the bomber version for another time, in the event that someone produces an appropriate kit. He has started with the cockpit, and to give an idea of what you can expect, here are a couple of pics:

On the left is a view of the cockpit of the Victor preserved at Elvington. Cozy, isn't it? On the right are Mad Pete's images for the PE instrument panel (left) and the instrument film (right) that will detail it out. He's currently engrossed on making everything fit, given the compromises on interior dimensions caused by the thickness of the kit's plastic. We all know that Mad Pete will prevail in the end, but in the meantime if you hear gibbering and moaning coming from the northeast of England....
