This kit is number three in the "Narrow Seas" range of small coastal craft and comes complete with its own individually designed photo etched brass detail set. Both the master patterns and the photo etched brass were designed by Peter Hall.

Construction: double skin mahogany hull with bonded wood decks. Three rudders underslung.
Dimensions: Length overall 73ft, Beam 19ft 4.5", Draught forward 2ft 8", Aft 5ft 7 "
Displacement: 46.7 tons
Machinery: Three Packard supercharged 1,400 hp each. Centre engine geared, wing engines direct drive. Auxiliary engine 230 Volt, 12.5 Kw Ford V8.
Speed: 39.5 knots at 2400 rpm, max 34 knots at 2000 rpm continuous,
Endurance: 470 miles at 20 knots
Fuel Capacity: 2,500 gallons
Heating and Cooking: electric heating and hot plate
Wheelhouse and Steering: Armoured upper bridge steering and emergency steering aft
Communications: W/T, 3 radar sets, echo sounding gear, inter-ship radio crew: 2 officers, 11 ratings
Armament: 1 x 2 Oerlikon forward, 2 x 2 .303 inch machine guns on pedestals, 4 x 18 inch torpedo tubes, 2 Rocket flare projectors.
Built January 1943, Delivered January 1944, MTB 379 was the prototype for the new 73ft Vosper MTB design and survived the war finally being sold in 1947.
