3. Deck plate 3 is designed to fit over the housing on the fore top platform, kit part B25( Part J14 Tirpitz) .The etched rectangle shows the position of a small deck house that is not present in the kit.

4. Deck Plate 4 fits on to the Aft Upper Superstructure, kit part D24( Part K14 Tirpitz) below the aft director housing. The moulded plastic bulwarks will need to be removed and the top of the housing smoothed before fitting the deck plate.

5. Deck Plate 5 is the Conning Bridge Deck and fits around the Conning Tower on to kit part C13.

6. Item 6 is the front section Splinter Shield that fits on to the Upper Searchlight Platform Deck Plate.

7. Deck Plate 7 is the Upper Searchlight Platform Deck, kit part B5( Part J4 Tirpitz). The moulded plastic bulwarks will have to be removed before fitting the deck plate to the kit part.

8. Items 8 are the side section Splinter Shields that fit on to the Upper Searchlight Platform deck plate. These for the Gun Tubs for two Flakveirling Mountings.

9. Items 9. These are the Splinter Shields for Aft Lower Superstructure deck plate.

10. Deck Plate 10 is the Aft Lower Superstructure deck plate and fits on to kit part D14. Some moulded on parts may need to be removed before fitting, but there are etched areas on the deck plate that will facilitate replacement of these parts.

11. Deck Plate 11 is the Upper Funnel Platform deck. This fits on to kit part C19(Part J21 Tirpitz).

12. Deck Plate 12 is the Lower Funnel Platform deck. This fits on to kit part C20(Bismarck Only).

13. Deck Plate 13 is the Forward Superstructure Roof decking. Fits on to kit part J10. This was only fitted to Tirpitz in an Early fit before the AA gun tubs were fitted and two single 20mm were in place there .

14. Deck Plates 14 are the Forward Batterie Deck Plates. These fit over kit parts E4 and E5(Parts K4 & K6 Tirpitz). The etched parts may differ in size and shape to the kit parts. This is because the decking extended further than the decks in the kit parts, so the etched parts must be fitted after the kit parts have been located and secured.

15. Deck Plate 15 is the Manoeuvering Platform Bridge deck and fits on to kit part B13( Part J12 Tirpitz).

16. Deck Plate 16 fits in front of the superstructure and behind 'B' Turret. The semi circular cutout fits around 'B' Barbette.

17. Deck Plate 17 fit on top of the Aft Director Housing, on top of kit part D24( Part K14 Tirpitz).

18. Deck Plates 18 are circular deck plates for the Aft Searchlight Platform tubs, kit part D20.

19. Deck Plates 19 are the Aft Batterie Decks and are the largest of all the plates. These fit on each side of the Aft Battery Deck from the Catapult to 'C' Turret. The circular cut outs in one end, fit around 'C' Barbette. The separate rectangular planked plate fits onto the upward angled section of deck immediately aft of the Catapult.

20. Items 20 are splinter shield, for the gun tubs on the decks that have had to have the moulded plastic ones removed.

21. Deck Plate 21 is the Upper Bridge deck and fits onto kit part B24( Part J11 Tirpitz) before any of the other superstructure parts are fitted in place.

It is suggested that a White Glue be used to attach the deck plate to the kit parts as it does not set as quickly as super glue. However, super glue may be used by first securing the deck plate in place then running thin super glue under the edges of the plate.
