WEM K 719 1/700 HMS Sussex 1942

built by Jim Baumann

Briefly, this lovely model of a WW2 County Class cruiser was built by JB back in February 1999 and was entered with all of Jim’s ship models in the Fleet Air Arm Museum model show that year. Along with his other entries, it got joint "BEST of SHOW" that day.

In this build, he has used every last piece of photoetched brass, and has rigged the ship with micro-fine stretched black sprue.  Gold Medal Models 1/700 Naval Figures and hand-made White Ensign complete complete this model.  Also note that this was Jim’s first ever attempt at camouflage, working to the full colour port, starboard and overhead camouflage guide provided with the kit. The pictures were supplied by Chris Drage.  I hope you like them!

When you check out the awesome level of detail, please bear in mind that this model is well under 11.5 inches long!
